Developing Story: The South Carolina Legislature is considering legislation in the form of a joint resolution—SC Joint Resolution S.51—“to encourage Santee Cooper to issue a request for proposal to solicit proposals on utilizing assets associated with V.C. Summer Units 2 and 3 and for considerations related to a request for a proposal.” In addition, the South Carolina Energy Special Committee will convene on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 1PM aimed at addressing South Carolina’s energy future. Lastly, the Wall Street Journal, in a breaking story, is reporting that Santee Cooper is about to publicly announce plans to seek proposals for buyers to complete the Summer project in South Carolina.
